Very Dry Ball Won't Shed and has a red tint

My 4 year old Ball Python has been extremely dry for almost a month now. He had shown signs of shedding so I increased the humidity and have been keeping a good eye on him. Today when I got him out I noticed that his underbelly is tinted "red" and his Anal plate is very dry and discolored.

He hasn't eaten since October, which he usually begins eating in late april, early may but has turned down 4 rats since the beginning of may.

Just worried because I have his tank husbandry correct and have just become more concerned. Any help would be appreciated!

How are you heating the enclosure? Is there a heating pad? Is it connected to a thermostat? It sounds like you've got yourself a burn situation.

I agree with Asherah, it sounds like your snake could be burned. Not only is it important that you're using a thermostat, but that your probe is making intimate contact with the heat source, If it is not your heat source could be full on which could be the reason for the overheating.

So, my heating pad has stopped working so at the moment there's no heat under the tank. I do have a thermostat and The temp stays between 78-82 with a basking light that stays around 90. The humidity is usually kept around 55% but has been around 70% since he's been so dry. I spray his tank daily, and am positive that it's not a burn. I just don't know what else it could possibly be.

I'm going to take pictures just give me a second. I'm getting my daughter around for school. BRB

You're good. Lots of us put that information (our web page, Facebook, etc.) in our signatures so it's available in every post, and your contact info serves that same purpose. Heck - if you wanted to save yourself a few key strokes, you could do the same.

Very high humidity for extended periods can also cause belly rot. At this point I won't hazard more than that without seeing some pictures.
