    I wanted to keep them at least a year to check out the ontogenetic color change firsthand. They still have a ways to go but as yearlings I'm getting a better idea of where they're headed. As hatchlings, patterns aside, they pretty much all looked like this:

    I did the same pairing this year and with 15 eggs due to hatch next month, maybe I'll get off my butt and start making some hard decisions. More likely though is me just ending up having 26 growing cheynei to observe instead of 11.
