I am sorry you had to rehome your pet.
I do however hold huge respect for you doing the right thing.
I am so tired of the ignorant "just hide it" comments.
Eviction can and has happened from having just one snake.

You could probably put him in a sweater box and slide it under your bed LOL.

Well there's a complex that even has a very specific "no snakes" rule. Most places won't even allow my roommate's fish. She's in a 40gal tank so there's no hiding her really. And I hate lying. I'd rather ask honestly instead of being evicted later.

Good on you for doing things the right way, OP, and good luck with eventually finding a place to live where you can reclaim your BP.

Haha. Thanks. Yeah, there are a lot of "just don't tell them" suggestions coming both here and from people in real life but I'm glad to know someone agrees that I shouldn't do that. XD

And eviction would tarnish the rental history record too! XD I'd kind of rather have to take some more time finding a place than have an eviction for violating policy pop up next time I rent a place, so thanks!

I have made the 'hide it' mistake before. Random inspections do happen- I faced some hefty fines but was lucky enough to evade eviction...

It's never a good way to do things, getting caught is not fun!!

    Re: Final Pics Before Rehome

So a thing happened. I thought snakes didn't care much for their people unless it was because food and it's a warm thing to lay on. The friend I left Kayly with tried to pick her up (this was 4 days after a feeding and 2 weeks after she got her) and she snapped to her! I've never seen Kayly try to bite anyone before so that was weird. I went over there the next day to see if something was off but everything was fine. I picked her up and everything was dandy. But she immediately crawled to my shoulders, stood her face up by mine, and started at my friend as though she was defending me or something. I think she might know she's mine because that was weird.

When we were in apartments they only care about dogs and cats. because they were the ones that could damage to apartment. No one ever cared about fish, birds, snakes. or anything that was caged or contained.
