Lol yeah our home is a nightmare for allergies if you're allergic to cats. My brother in law is allergic and is the one that house sits when we travel. He's a trooper though and we do maintain it well.

He is! The coat is so different too. incredibly soft and cuddle, mind the claws and teeth of course ;-) Last night was night two with us, and he is finally settling into a routine. His nocturnal nature kicked in, so we had a crazy cat howling and running around wanting to play all night. Going to be a mild transition for us! But of course, we didn't mind wrestling and playing with wands with him till he passed out which took a bit!

Re: Asian Leopard Cat!
Had the honor of helping a local company with a wild wish (spin on make a wish foundation) with a girl who has a heart for cats! He did so well with all the attention.
First interaction with one of our more beefy cats who is extremely gentle with everyone and any animal. Great times.

Re: Asian Leopard Cat!
He now gives kisses on demand
Modified his fountain since he liked to go in there and splash around and pee a couple of times. As a water loving species they typically defecate in the water in the wild so it's expected. We have been able to get him to use a toilet twice now! But since he fell in one of those times we decided it's better to keep to litter boxes for the time being.

Yes this is a type of wild cat. It has been "domesticated" through captive lines. These captive lines are what people bred into domestic house cats to make what we know as a Bengal, which comes from the Asian leopard cats latin name 'Prionailurus bengalensis'
And yes, they get to be around 20-25lb. Some will stay smaller. Ours was a poor feeder at his original home and so he's definitely smaller than he should be for 6 months old, but he's currently feeding 3 times a day on a raw food diet of ground rabbit (whole) with chicken and all the needed supplements for his breed.

we'd love to have a true asian leopard cat but we have to settle for bengals and desert lynx. Ohio allows the hybrids but not the original species. congrats on the new addition. We have a litter of desert lynx due in the next 3-5 days. I may have to take some pics

Re: Asian Leopard Cat!
Eek! Please do. We have a desert Lynx as well!
And do they limit your generation of bengal? In Texas we can't have serval without proper licenses. And you can only have "domesticated" Savannah even though the law states no hybrids of serval. So ours is an f6 SBT to comply fully.
