What is the smallest snake you would put in a AP T8?
Okay I'm really sorry about the rapid fire posts, I just want to clear everything up before I finally order my buddy. So one of my remaining questions is: what is the smallest snake you would put in an AP T8 with no divider. I will be keeping my little dude in a 10 gallon reptile (its specifically designed for reptiles-no its not a fish tank).
When would be a good time to move the snake from the 10 gal to the T8?
Would I need to keep him in an intermediate cage until he is large enough for the T8?
And What would you consider large enough for a T8?

Re: What is the smallest snake you would put in a AP T8?
When the snake is full grown. The divider is only $20 plus a little shipping! Its worth every penny especially bc you can use the rhp!
I will say that my super pastel is 600ish grams and 3ft long and is in a v400 which is about the same size of a T8. He wouldn't eat consistently so I put him in there and it worked, last 10 feedings successful. Also a 1072g Ivory has been in a 48" cage so I'm buying him off a friend and putting in a T10. These are not typical cases of bps, they usually need small spaces.
What will probably end up happening is the snake will outgrow the 10g but won't be big enough for the full T8 yet so you will either have to buy a size in between or a divider so I say get the divider now and put snake in half of T8 and move divider as its grows to big for half. It will be less hassle in the long run and the T8 won't be sitting around forever, it will be in good use.

I guess that'll do. When should I move it out of the 10 gallon?

Re: What is the smallest snake you would put in a AP T8?
I bought a killer bee at 18inches and 213g and put her in a v211 24x24x14 (same floor space as half a T8) and she has done great in it. She is now at 275g. I would say if your getting a snake around 200g it would be fine in half a T8 if you clutter it with a couple fake plants and maybe a log. If your getting a hatchling then the 10g probably last a little while, it honestly just depends on the snake, some grow faster then others. For example my super pastel was around 300 grams at 7 months (now almost 1 year old at 600g) and I've been making payments on a toffino enchi that was about 6.5 months old last month when it was weighed by the breeder and she is only 123g, less then half the body weight of the super pastel. You won't know till you see how it grows, could last in the 10g for a year or more or could grow out of it in 6 months.
