Actually there is plenty of sources on the internet that say your bp cage should be 1 1/4 the size of your bp. Obviously this isn't needed but I'm just saying I can see how someone stumble across other "rules of thumb". My super pastel can fully stretch out in his 48" v400 and there's still a little more room, my killer bee when I got her could in her v211 but now she's a few inches longer, the ivory I'm getting in a few days has been in a 48" cage for the past 6 months and he can fully stretch out so I'm putting him in a T10. They are cluttered decent and They all eat great and utilize the space they have. My super pastel actually didn't start eating consistently until I moved him from the v211 to the v400. Will it work with some, yes of course but most it will not.
