LIKE WHAT?! THE PET STORE DOESN'T TELL YOU THESE THINGS?! I imeddiately turned it off and took him out to inspect him. His belly doesn't appear to have any burn marks but is very dry (he is also stress shedding from the move) i just ordered a zoo met regulator with a thermometer with a prob, I tured on a heater and I'm htting the couch for the night so my room will stay warm enough for him. I'm in total shock these awful pet stores don't warn you about the things they sell you knowing this is a first experience with their "starter kits"
You are going to be even more upset when you find out it is a lot easier and cheaper to keep them in a tub without all the lights and what not. Costs me between $8 and $15 depending if tubs are on sale to add a new animal to my system. The biggest expense is the thermostat at the beginning.

You learned a lesson the hard way. Hopefully you caught the mistake soon enough. Always research an animal before purchase. Never expect a retailer to tell you the right thing. They want to sell equipment and generally are unwilling to pay qualified people to work in their stores.
