I actually started with glass critter cages with screen lids (40 gallon, 20 gallon, 10 gallon, and 5 gallon). Then when I upgraded to an ARS rack system I used the critter cages to raise rodents! I actually prefer my snakes in tubs and my mice and rats in aquariums, they both seem more comfortable in that setup.
