    ball python not eating

    i am new to this site and have been looking at the tips every one has put on about ball pythons not eating which have been very helpful i have had my bp since christmas last year he did not eat at first and was told not to worry as he had to settle in to his new home i tried feeding him thawed mice which he refused all the time i eventually gave in and fed him a live one which he ate then i went back to thawed which he took he now has stopped eating again it has been 7 weeks . he is drinking and seems to stay in his hide alot temperature is 90 ive moved the lamp that was by him as it was posted they like the dark is there anything else i can try .

    Balls often to go off feed from time to time it is normal behavior . One of my guys hasn't eaten in over 4 weeks as well .

    You can try and cut back your feeding attempts to keep your snakes stress down and to also help you save feeders. I have a snake that eats very little the whole year. The ratio of him eating vs the time he's fasting keeps him small. So don't worry just yet. Just hang in there and he should start up again

    How old is he? How much does he weigh? Try getting a very tight hide, one that he barely fits into. Also consider getting some 100% cypress mulch mixed into the substrate.

    thank for your help i havent gave him anything for couple of days now just left him alone i will try feeding him a live 1 on the weekend

    he is about 8 months not sure how much he weighs he has 2 hides and he is in the smaller 1 i will get the cyprus mulch thank you
