    Need some advice/help

So this glass tank is a pain... looking at the T1 AP Cages.... or the 211 or 221 Vision cage....anyone have experience with them.... Good investment?... easier to maintain temps/humidity?

Tubs are not an option for me... Need to be able to display my baby for my grandkids.....

Thanks for the recommendations and comments.....

How big is the tank you're using? I may be able to help you wrangle your issues in a bit.

    Re: Need some advice/help

20 gal long... i can hold humidity and temp for about 5 day and then humidity drops... i ordered some repti chip so hoping that will help.

I have a CHE on one end and UTH on the other... the UTH has a probe between the tank and glass bottom but doesn't get a good seal... I have Aluminum tape holding it in place. Zoo med uth is just not meant to have a probe between the mat and glass. It is also hooked up to a VE-200. I am misting twice a day until the repti chip gets here... This is a older pic... since then I have gotten 2 acu-rites.. one for each end.... and CHE is on a dimmer....

I'd ditch the CHE entirely. I got my female currently in a 75g and my male in a 40 breeder 1 hide each side (rbi)1 water bowl on aspen the CHE will murder your tanks humidity. To be honest I don't keep mine anywhere near 60% probably 40% and my sheds are always flawless, sometimes I'll mist lightly when the eyes go blue phase.

Something else you could try, if you haven't already... It looks like you already have a plexiglass or glass lid on top, or at least part of it. You could add foil to the entire top, with just a circle cut out of it for your CHE. I would cut the hole in the file just about 1/8" smaller than the dome of your CHE, that will keep a little more humidity inside for you.

I can't speak to the T1, but I have a T8 and could not be happier. I am using a T8 with RHP's and flexwatt for backup, but it's rarely on at all. With just a small water bowl, no misting, my humidity stays between 50-60%. During shed and winter I'll put a second water bowl in there and it will help bring the humidity up another 10%. Aside from my thermostat, the T8 was the best investment I've made in regards to my BP.

The UTH is only for a hot spot and when properly regulated does nothing for ambient temperatures.

    Re: Need some advice/help

I have both the v211 and v221. Great for humidity once you cover the vents. I would look into a 40w rhp and get the v221. The v211 you don't really have the option for a rhp bc the vent is in middle of cage and dips into the cage, you would have to put a piece of PVC to cover the whole top of the inside to use a rhp. For my v211 I use 2 uth, one for a hot spot and one that covers the whole cool side bc my cool temps are 70 without it, its inconvenient and takes up a spot in my Herpstat 6 that shouldn't be. That's why I say go with the v221 so you won't run into the same problem as me.

    Re: Need some advice/help

    Thank you for the info..

I just changed out the substrate, removed the CHE, got a medium size UTH hooked up to the VE (had a small), changed to different size plexiglass (covers about 95% of the screen top).... i will let it stabilize for a couple hours and see what happens..
