Question What size mouse can I feed my snake?

I went to the petstore to get mice for my snake June but I accidentally got adult mice which is bigger than they were eating before. What size mice do you think they could eat? Theyre about 1.5 feet long and the scale i weighed them with says that theyre about 125 grams but looking at a chart i think that might be wrong. Thanks!

Weigh the mice. Going by the 10-15% concept, their food should be between 12.5g and 18.75g, if each snake is 125g themselves. My littlest guy can easily down an adult mouse.

NOTE!!! - This assumes that your snakes are ball pythons. Since you posted in general herp, and didn't say what kind of snake you have, that information could be entirely wrong. My kingsnake has just almost reached 200g, and he still eats multiple large mouse hoppers - an adult mouse, let alone a large adult, would be too big for him.

Edit - I see from your profile that June appears to be a ball python, so the above measurement scale should be right. I'm no expert - but that's the advice that I've been given, myself, by those far more experienced than I am.

Yes, I believe so. Is the mice bigger than the snake's belly?

If they're the same size or smaller than the widest point of the belly you are definitely a good size to feed. You should be just fine.

Small adult mice should be fine. I started my younger guy on small adult mice (the ones from Petco are about 18-20g) and he was 125g when I got him. If it's a particularly large mouse, maybe not. But going by the largest part of the snake, sounds like they're small enough.
