    Re: What kind of carpet

Without accurate lineage information it's impossible to say with certainty what kind of carpet you have. Yours looks like it has some jungle influences and there could be some IJ or coastal in the mix too. That would be my guess but again it's just a guess. Either way carpets are great snakes to keep and yours looks nice.

I know it's just a guess just curious what others thought went to a different petstore than usual to find live mice (picky brb) and fell in love with this guy

As Zig stated, without info everything is a guess.

I also see possible jungle and coastal influence. I am in the same situation with my "mutt" she is called a coastal, but has some characteristics that are outside of the pure coastal box.

    I've never seen a carpet python I didn't like!

Looks like a low quality (low yellow) jungle. To me.

Based on the size of the snake, it would be premature to refer to it as low yellow even if we knew it was a jungle. They're all born with coloration similar to a coastal. It takes a while for them to yellow up.

    Re: What kind of carpet

Either way I agree with terminal. No matter what kind of carpet it is they are awesome snakes so you will enjoy it. Our tiger jag likes to hang down and drink water also. She barely touches the ground where as the other two are on the ground quite a bit.
