    Moving with reptiles

I haven’t posted in a while. I have had some painful hardships in the past and have been buried in work. Now I am coming up on retirement and that means I get to move back home to my property… in Florida. I have no reptiles of concern, but still a huge pain. I have 12 animals I need to move. I have been on the phone with Florida fish and wildlife a couple of times. I faxed the permit application to fish and wildlife today. I have ordered insulated boxes, bags and heat packs from SYR’s, they are on the way here. I plan to take the ARS rack down on the first trip so I can get it disinfected and set up. Then as long as the paperwork is all good, I will take the animals down on the second trip.

Does anyone have any experience with Florida fish and wildlife? Did the process go smoothly? Any advice for the move? Am I forgetting anything? I don’t know if I can take another loss if this goes badly. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I don't have any xp with Florida so I apologize . But I just relocated , mostly having large constrictors it was a crazy move and that may be a understatement. . It was a very time consuming Process . I don't pre plan much , just basically in the box and out the door was my strategy as I was pressed for time . My tip would be simple . I would take count of everything you need and will need and make sure it's there . I have many things gone and or missing and wish I would have taken the time to do it right . I know that's common sense but in the heat of the situation small things can be forgotten especially when it's involving a significant other . Aside from all that. I'd have to say . Head up , press forward , keep that heat up , things will all be down hill shortly . Hoping the best for you in your move .

Ball Pythons, a few Carpet pythons, a Russian tortoise and a Corn snake.
I was told that all needed to be on the inventory.

I don't know about Florida, but speaking as a generic state regulatory agency employee in the Midwest, we want to help. We understand that the process can be confusing. The paperwork drives us crazy, too. We don't mind when people who are trying to follow the rules call with questions.

They did seem very easy over the phone and did answer all the questions I thought to ask about the paperwork. It’s just that the first time with confusing paperwork, I lack confidence. Hopefully I completed it all correctly and the move will go as planned without any “Murphy’s law”. I think I just jinxed myself here. Lol.
