My backyard floods anytime it rains, and where I live has very strict building codes. I've been denied repeatedly for a shed. In order to build the shed I have to level the yard, and build a much taller privacy fence around my entire backyard that will hide the shed from public view. And it can only be made out of certain high priced building materials according to the city and home owners association. And even then I'm sure the board will find another reason to deny my request. I put a tiny little greenhouse up a few years ago and got slapped with a hefty fine and an order to take it down. I'm only going to be in this house for 3-4 more years so it doesn't make sense to spend tens of thousands on redoing my entire yard for a shed I won't use for long.
