i think my ball python is stargazing, i tried to feed him and he will go right up to the mouse then just slither away. also he goes to the middle of the cage and just lifts his head up for a couple of seconds then goes back. what should i do? also when he goes up to the mouse he raises his head up really high over it then goes away

That's not stargazing. Sounds like he's a picky eater or something is off with his husbandry, or he's just not hungry.

What type of enclosure is he in, and what are the temperatures and humidity in it?

Did you ever get a heat pad and thermostat for him? If not he won't eat when he's cold, as they can't digest.

Definitely not star gazing. Do you pre scent the room before feeding?

You need your hot side to be 88-90. Get a ceramic heat emitter or uth, you could also use a red heat bulb but the first 2 options are better imo and then you need to control the heat it gives off with a lamp dimmer or thermostat. Thermostat preferably but a lamp dimmer will do but you need to watch your temps and adjust when needed where as a thermostat adjust automatically. 80 is a cool side temp. Your snake is not eating bc its cold. You need to get your temps right first and any other husbandry issues corrected before your snake will eat. I suggest reading the care sheet.
