Actually I think reptiles are more intelligent than people give them credit for. I mean they did branch off of birds and we know birds are kind of intelligent. There was a study done where bearded dragons actually learned from other bearded dragons how to open a door to get to the other side for an insect. One was taught how to do it and then when put in a cage with a bunch who didn't know, they watched the one who did and they learned how to do it. That's just the basic overview of the experiment. There is more detail but I cant remember the site Bottom line is I think they can learn which is a form of intelligence. They just don't have emotions like how we classify them like love, hate, revenge etc. They are more instinctual emotions like fear.

I've been doing this for years. I have no evidence that it works, but it certainly never seems to have any ill effect.

Agreed, obviously they are not the mindless killers most people make them out to be. That being said, different reptiles/snakes have vastly different intelligence levels.

I've read that since snakes "read" heat patterns, and everyone has a distinct pattern, they can "recognize" you that way. Kind of makes sense to me, but I'm not sure how much science backs it up.
