Blue Eyed Leucistic Ball Python (new to snakes)
I've been doing research and have settled on a ball python. I'm also interested in a Blue or black Eyed Leucistic. I like the pure whites and a smooth head but discovered that they are rare. I saw in a forum that someone said they can cost 1-2500 but have found websites that sell them for 3-600 (when is stock) I'm not sure what to believe but I'm willing spend around 500 for a snake.
Can you get a Blue/black Eyed Leucistic Ball Python for around 500? and if you can, what are the best places I can find one online? (US)

They go for around 450 to 650 and up. Depends on what the gene is that made the bel.

Blue eyed lucys are more common than Black eyed lucys, from what I have seen (which makes Black eyed lucys more expensive). Lucys may be super-forms or mixed forms - a super Butter, for example, or a Butter-Mojave... either combination will give you a Blue eyed white snake. A super Fire, or a Fire-Sauce will give you a Black eyed white snake. Some Lucys also have additional coloring or patterning, depending on the genes. For example, Ivories (super Yellowbelly) are usually a little bit yellow with a stripe down the back. A super Mojave will have a purple head. Super fires often have patches of bright yellow along their dorsal line.
MorphMarket is a good place to look for snakes. You can also find them on Kingsnake Classifieds, or Fauna Classifieds. If you've been researching breeders, many have their own websites, and you may stumble across a BEL for sale on a breeder's site as well.

It's also good to maybe put out a "wanted" posting here on this site. I've found some folks may have a snake or two that they weren't advertising, but would be willing to let them go if the mood hits them right. It can't hurt.... Also, keep an eye open for reptile expos near you. That is nice because you can see the snake up close and don't have to pay shipping. Sometimes (usually) the prices are a little better at expos as well.

If you search for a male you could find a blue eyed luecistic for $500 or less. Females tend to be more pricey.

Blue eyed lucy's have depreciated in price a lot over the years... If you don't mind the morph mixes to get to the BEL, you can find male lesser mojaves for $350~$400 shipped to your home on average this year, easily.
Join the "ball pythons classified" group on facebook! They're all hobby breeders to bigger breeders and buyers. When you're ready, just post you're looking for a BEL, and breeders will offer their snakes.
