    Hide exchange. Nay to change!

Everyone take a sec to appreciate how adorable this guy is!
I thought I'd share. So as you can my "hatchling" (more like bigling) has gotten too big for his coconut. He wont let it go LOL
I placed his new hide in there and just poops in it and goes back to his old hide.

I've moved his coconut to the cool and the new hide in the old place.

Is the half log his new hide? He probably doesn't like it do to the fact it is wide open in the front. Buy the reptile basics hides and buy 2 of them one hot one for cold so he can't play favorites and will regulate his temp properly. There very dark and secure. I used the half log for awhile and my male never used it except to poo also. Make sure you buy one that will be snug fit. Don't get anything smaller then the mediums. The medium reptile basics hide are good up to 700g ball python. He looks about as big as my male and I use the medium. He will be much happier with the RBI hides.

    and yes he is adorable

AWWW omg this is too cute <3 Thanks for sharing our baby has a coconut that she loves too, it's her preferred hide of many for her cool side. We use a rock hut for her hot side, which she has really grown fond of. Hopefully you find a new hide that your big boy likes! =) Love the picture they are such particular creatures.

Some of us just don't like change.
The one thing I found that you can count on about Balls is that they are consistent about their inconsistentcy.

maybe try pilling up some substrate to the entrance to the hide. I had to do that with my girl. She would burrow before I made a smaller entrance to the half log hides with some substrate. I also went through a few different hides that were a bit to big for her. I'll have em for when she gets bigger I guess.

I've seen mine do that... it is cute! I had one of those coconut hides, but it had a lip around the inside edge that I didn't like. Just today, I seem to have finally discovered an acceptable hide for Miqula. I took a mailing label box, cut a hole in it, and put that in there, and she promptly vanished into it and hasn't been seen since. She's rejected every other hide that I offered her.
