None of those things have any reason to be scared of a ball python... except maybe the neighbours

Re: Worst Nightmare...
Glad there was no escape. Meech, I wouldn't just trust those little clips, we also put a weight on top of the lid. It's sort of a double protection.

The BP might want to be scared of them though. 😉

I think all my adults are maybe too lazy to try to escape except maybe during breeding season. I left a bunch of tubs on the floor one time with the lids just laying on top for the better part of a day and night and checked on them periodically (they can't get out of the room). I don't think they even tried to escape. Babies are a different story though. My wife managed to loose one for a couple hours after leaving a lid unlatched.

Damn, that's a hot profile pic you got there Fraido, which one are you?
OP: Never had one escape, I made my own homemade enclosure and used cabinet door clips. I was worried at first if it was enough, but so far so good and its been over a year. I understand your fear though, for the first week or two, I was constantly worried one would get out.

My first snake was a very tiny baby corn. I had him in a 10 gallon with 4 cage clamps on it, I was so paranoid about him getting out. I thought I lost him, searched the whole cage, and found him tightly coiled in the fake branch I got him. I was so relieved. When he crawled up I stuffed it with those fake plastic mancala rock type things.

My normal managed to escape the bottom tub of a rack - no clue how he managed that one. I had a mini-heart attack when I saw it cracked open, til I realized the genius was mere inches away underneath the rack. Lol. Glad you didn't have to learn the hard way to keep things secured.
