Pin Strip at Petco
So, I went to petco today due to a sale they was having and I want to see if there was anything I may be able to pick up... They did have a pinstrip baby there for 299.00 but after the 50% off it would have been
150.00. I thought that was too much and walked away. I went home and started looking at them and found that it was way over priced. They go for around 70-90 on different websites....
So, should I print what i found and go back to see if I can get it cheaper?.... They actually have two of them......
Here is the a picture of it at petco.....

Re: Pin Strip at Petco
Retail prices vs Hobbyist prices, so no reason to get up in arms about it.
You can try, but what you're talking about is basically the equivalent of telling a store that you found an item cheaper on Craigslist and you want them to price match them.

Chances are they tagged it as whatever their supplier sent it as. Unless someone in the store is knowledgeable about BP morphs, it's bound to happen.

I don't know much about bp morph prices but I was just looking on morph market and lemon blasts were going anywhere between 100-200 for males and 150-250 for females so it seems like an average deal. If you like it go pick it up. Since I bought my super pastel I've fell in love with ball pythons to the point I would pay more then what something is worth to have it. It's not like that when looking online but if I seen some of the ones I want in person I would buy them over priced or not. I know people will think I'm stupid but when your in love it happens lol just ask my girlfriend she's treated pretty well, only reason I started keeping herps to begin with. I seen what is now my killer bee Persephone (labeled as a bumble bee) at a pet store in the mall which has over priced written all over it. As soon as I laid eyes on her I had to have her. This pet store 99% of the time only gets males so I was thinking it was a male and I was talking to the manager and got him to drop the price $110 but I would of paid full over priced. Then after the deal was made he told me she was a she which made my day bc I wanted a little girl next, he popped her in front of me and I also did at home. Then I came to find out from this forum that she was a killer bee. I actually got a pretty good deal. Sorry for the long post but you can't put a price on love. I'm not saying go on out and over pay 200+ I'm just saying $50-$100 more isn't that bad. Some people may say oh that was stupid or you could of gotten that way cheaper online but some of us are going to say congrats on the new edition to your family. Do what your heart tells you not what the going for rate is.

I used to be a petco employee, they price match, but not online websites, only other retailers (walmart, target, petsmart, etc.) I always discounted people though lol if it was the reptile rally petco has every now and then, the discount might have ended as it was a one day thing.

Heck, if you really want it. Just do it, enjoy. Just make sure you get what you need to keep it healthy.

Maybe they used to have a pinstripe and no one changed the label.
Keep in mind that if you were to buy a similar snake from anyone not local, you would probably have to pay for fairly expensive shipping. Yes, brick and mortar prices are higher, but they allow you to see the animal in person, buy it, and walk out with it. No waiting on the weather, paying for shipping, putting the snake through the stress of all that, etc. And the price differences we're talking about add up to less than the cost of keeping the animal for a year. If you want the snake, then buy it; we're not talking about getting ripped off by a used car salesman here.
Whether you want to buy things from Petco is another story. But just to play devil's advocate on that one for a moment, maybe there is an argument to be made for supporting a Petco location that actually does take decent care of their animals, even for things like dog food and kitty litter. The argument is that the corporate bean counters may not care that much about how much a snake gets sold for, but they do care about which locations do better than others. It's all the same chain, but if they think that customers notice and care how the animals are kept, the corporate higher-ups will care too. To that end, it doesn't hurt to tell a manager or send a note to customer service, etc, saying you noticed and appreciate it.
