    Best uth brand?

    So I'm looking at getting a uth for my 40 gallon tank and want some opinions on brands.

    I prefer the Ultratherm uths. Even unregulated (which I would never do) they say they won't get hot enough to harm your animals.

    I like Kane heat mats but the smallest size is 18x18 which is to big for a 40. My second option would be intellitemp from big apple pet supply, they come in 4 sizes and don't have the adhesive on them like zoomed and others. They cost right around the same also.

    No THG is its own brand. Flex is its own brand.
    UTH is only for a warm spot NOT ambient heating.
    With a room that cool there is no UTH source that will do on its own.
    Your better bet would be a radiant heat panel.

    I'm well aware that it's not for ambient. I have a lamp to deal with ambient temps.THG is the stuff from reptile basics correct?

    Yes THG is from reptile basics. I read somewhere that it gets hotter than flexwatt. Whichever option you choose make sure your using a thermostat.
