    Shedding Concerns/Possible RI?

    Hey!

So I have an 8-month old Blood who is shedding for the first time for me. During the first two weeks with me, he had developed an RI that was supposedly cured (He had been fed three-four times after that ordeal). Anyways, His eyes became cloudy and his body became dull around April 6 and two days ago, he started looking as if he shed. Now here is my concern. Right Before he started the shedding cycle, he started wheezing and whistling whenever I got close to him (he is very very defensive as he is a juvenile) as if he had an RI, but he is not showing any bubbles, mucous, head lifting symptoms. I am more inclined to think that he has some loose skin in the nostrils based off of what I read in the Ball Python forums regarding the same issue.

As of right now, his temps are 79-83, humidity averages around 65-70 but since I discovered that he is in the process of shedding I bumped up the humidity to around 86.

I really just want some answers/advice on whats going on.
    Thanks!

He is way too cold, temps should be 79-90*F normally and if you suspect an RI bump him to 82-92*F.

juvenile bloods cant really tolerate anything over 88. that could just lead to a possible regurgitation. vpi keeps their bloods 80-82 year round with no problems and perfect. just looking for an answer to my question on whether wheezing/whistling during a shed is considered normal for juvenile bloods who have no other ri symptoms.

are you sure he's "wheezing and whistling" and not "huffing and puffing"? Bloods are like that, especially young ones in shed. temps and humidity sound fine.

"he started looking as if he shed" what does that mean? did you find a shed skin? they become less dull and grey for a few days before they actually shed.
