Okay for some reason it won't let me edit my original post.
My snake lives in a plastic bin cage with a heatpad set at 90 on the hot side. I have a lamp on during the day to keep the ambient temp around 80-85 on the hot side. This drops to 70s at night with no lamp.
Two hides on either side and water dish in the middle.
Substrate is newspaper.
Sorry forgot to update! He's doing fine. No shed yet. no redness,peeling,pus, nothing. D
I ended up not bringing him to the vet because after a second soak I noticed most of the brown stuff came off...so I guess it wasn't a burn. Only a little bit is still left now, hoping it'll come out next time he sheds. Possibly dirt/dust from his cork bark or remnants of repti-bark bedding I used to use lol.
