    Super bananas

I have a het pied cg that I got to obviously shoot for some cg pied but I'm interested in finding some other females for him eventually. I don't see super banana/cg often and am considering picking up a female banana. Are there any known genetic issues with the supers like there are with some other morphs or are they rare just because of them mostly being males? Also curious what the sex ratio would be if both parents are cg? possibly more even male:female?

As far as I know, the super bananas have regular ratios no matter what the sex. I don't have any first hand experience with super bananas but that's the conclusion Mike wilbanks seems to come to in this video.

Thanks seven-thirty for that. It was very informative on the super banana and how to get there.

Super bananas throw out normal sex ratios.

I think of it like how males make banana offspring the same gender as their parent that had the banana gene (obviously not 100% of the time). So if you have a male super that means he has a banana gene from mom and a banana gene from dad, so both genders in his offspring will each get one of the banana gene.

Thanks for the video! So how did he arrive at 12.5% supers from banana x banana? I thought it would be a basic 25% normal, 25% super, 50% banana? I think thats what I got on the morph calculator too.

I think bc the way Mike explained it with the Supers your chances at the male maker would be 1 in 8 (12.5%) as opposed to 1 in 4 (25%).

From what I understand, a male maker makes females roughly 10% of the time. When putting a male and female banana together you should get the average 25/25/50% outcomes but that's not accounting for the skewed gender ratios. With the male maker banana, you have a 12.5% chance of hitting the male super form and 1.25% chance of hitting the female super with a male maker. These percentages swap when using a female maker.

OK I think i got it. I wasn't really concerned with it being either male or female, just thought making my own super for my collection would be nice eventually.
