For those using AP t-10s

For those of you who use AP T-10 cages, got a few questions. So I talked to Ali today and she told me there is no gap between cages when you stack them. Now my question for you guys using them, if you use the heat tape they offer, are you all gaping the cages? Ali said you can use furniture adhesive pads to provide a gap but i'm wondering what you guys are encountering. Are you getting any overheated heat tapes?

Second question, how are your AP cages holding heat in the winters with only heat tape? I keep my room around 75ish in the winters and I've only used RHPs. I'm wondering if heat tape will be enough to keep the cage warm in the winter. Also if I do need to add a RHP come winter and there is no gap between stacked cages, then that would mean I would have to use a dremel and cut my own channel for a RHP cord? Or run it out the side of the cage? What do you guys do about that for those who have had to add a RHP in winter? Also how do you guys mount the RHPs? I've mounted them before and they use 2 1/8" screws but it the cages have no gap, would I be routing a hole deep enough to recess the screw heads into the top of the cage? BTW this would be for a T-10 with a shelf so I mean I can run the cord inside and secure it with cable clamps and drill a hole in back to run the cord out but the bolt head issue will still be there.

Just use short screws that don't come out the other side. My reptile basics rhp came with screws that were the perfect length. Just got it all set up, haven't put anyone in it yet.

Thanks. Yeah I talked to another guy who uses RBI RHPs and he told em they come with screws also that he used on his T-10s that don't go all the way through. I use Pro Product RHPs which use 1/8" nut and bolts which require you to drill a hole in the roof and then bolt them in place. Think i'll give the RBI ones a try. Did you just run the power cord along the inside roof of the cage with cable clamps and drill a small hole out the back?

Lol, yeah Ali from AP told me to just use adhesive furniture pucks as they as thin enough to still allow the 1/8" guide pins to still work. If I need a RHP, i'll probably just do like I did in my ProLine and cable clamp the power to the inside roof and then put the cord out a hole in the back wall or I might do what Ali said also and butt the RHP against the side wall and drill a hole there and run it out along the side of the cage.

My ap cages I had to use RHP the flex watt wasn't enough. But the room temp average between 65-70. Now that I use RHP it heats the bottom of the top cage. Had to work out the right Temps but all is working well now.

What is the ambient temp in the room you keep it in? I generally keep my room around 75ish. That's kind of why i'm wondering if flexwatt along with a led light would be able to bump the cage temps up to around 80F.

And that's a RHP. I know they work as I use a 65 watt Pro Products PH3 on my ProLine cage and have no problem keeping that plenty warm. I'm more concerned with using just heat tape and a led light to hit the right ambient.

My room ambient is around 70. I actually had the cage floor up to 93 degrees when I first set it up empty.

I ran my cord through a plastic cable raceway attached with screws. That way there's no way for my snakes to get tangled.
