Humidity control question
i think it would be great for keeping humidity up, but a humid hide on either side would do the same for a lot cheaper. humid hides do not require electricity at all, and are easy to maintain. cleaning is a snap if you make it out of tupperware. i use a waterbowl/hid combo on the cool side, and a hide with sphagnum moss on the other. if you have a screen top do what i did. go to home depot get a slice of plexiglass, and have them cut it to size. make sure to leave room for air exchange. it costs 3 bucks. then put it on top of the screen. it will help to keep humidity levels up in general, no unsightly towels, or things like that. since placing the plexiglass peice on top the humidty has not dropped below 60%, and i have not misted in over 3 weeks now. actualy i have not misted at all. i would say humid hide all the way. easy cheap (free most of the time), and not much to clean. pumps are messy you need to mess with hoses and such. too much trouble for my taste. i would not worry if the cage has a humidity of 50% as long as their is a humid hide....to sum it all up..... HUMID HIDE!

If you have a screen top you may want to cover it with some duct tape or contact paper or the like if you don't already.
Here's a shot of a duct taped screen top of mine..

It also locks the heat in more so you'll need a dimmer for your light if you don't already.
Larger water bowls, above mentioned humid hides, or a repti flo are ways to go. There's also a humidifier in the DIY section.
Welcome to the "glass tank humidity battle"

here is a pic of my set up...

notice the towel on top of the cage. keeping a damp towel on top of the cage works excellent for me.

I used a damp towel method too.
When I used a glass tank.
Now since I switched over to Rubbermaids/Sterilites ... I don't use lamps nor towels.
You have a very pretty set-up Nathan.
