How much can a snake pee?

I checked my little guy this morning (I'm avoiding giving him a name until I confirm if he is indeed a he) and his paper towel was completely soaked with what I assume was urine. I'm pretty sure it wasn't a water spill, as it was all yellow. There was also a rather sizable lump in the middle of the tub, though I don't know if it was poop, urates, or both. It was about half white. This is my first snake so this is my first experience with snake excrement, and I'm not sure yet what is normal. He just ate 4 days ago, so I don't know if that's too soon for a poop.

Hahah that sounds about right. You'd be surprised how much they can squeeze out. Mine likes to crap on guests, it's both funny and embarrassing because it's a loooot.

Lol okay. I wasn't sure. It seemed like a lot of liquid, but then again he's about 1400g so he's kind of a biggie.

It does seem normal, unless it smells super weird. If he's eating fine and his water dish gets frequent visits then I'd say you're good to go how old is he?

I'm not sure, I rescued him from a woman who had no information about him. He belonged to her boyfriend, but somehow she ended up with him and sold him to me for bill money.

Oh, wow. ok, Maybe he's just clearing out his system, to speak. Who knows how well he was fed and what not. But nasty lumpy poops with small streaks of white seems like a normal thing. They have just the 1 cloaca so things get strange from time to time lol. He's sizeable, too!

The bigger the snake the bigger the waste, at that size they can produce enough urine to soak an entire tub, the white part is urate (urine bi-product), obviously fecal matter would be dark brown and can contain small or large amount of fur in it.

Might surprise you how little it takes to soak across an entire paper towel/newspaper lined tub.

Re: How much can a snake pee?

I have some 250 gram babies and I use 50lb Bogus paper to line the hatchling tubs. They can evacuate enough that the entire paper is soaked and when I lift it out there is still enough urine to pour out of the tub. Sorry for the graphic imagery. It's pretty amazing though and I'm rather envious. If I could hold that much I wouldn't have to get up in the middle of the night all the time, and perhaps I could get a good nights sleep.

Yup. It's pretty remarkable just how much they can have stored up. There are a few super huge girls I have where they just unload an ungodly amount of waste.
