    Interesting het pied project

I am in the market for another male to pair with my pied female in a few years. I would like to find something that is both attractive and out of the ordinary. So far I have been looking at some champagne combos and a dragonfly but there does not seem to be much variety in the het pied department. What are some of your suggestions?

Hey Ant, great combo there with the dragonfly project. Why dont you consider albino pied, candino pied and even killer pieds? Enchi fire pied? Good luck. I am working on a albino pied project now for about a year now. I want to start a candino pied project this year. Killer pieds will be on my list too. Lol.

I would say something like a coral glow enchi het pied would be nice, or if you want a double recessive, I would go with lav albino pied I guess. Or just go to a clown pied, those are still pretty rare but you can find some.

    Re: Interesting het pied project

I guess i'll suggest checking the ads on kingsnake. I remember sounding just like you in regards to my pied project and thanks to kingsnake i found the breeder that i got my mystic potion pos pied and trick het pied from. If you want his contact info just let me know. Also I've been meaning to show this pic of a supposed trick pied. The pattern doesn't blow me away but it's got decent color and i'm excited on how low white it is cause most gene's seem to get overpowered by the pied gene. This picture gives me some hope that trick could turn out to be a good gene to not get overpowered by pie bald so easily like many enchi pied examples i see.

I'm working on coral glow pieds but love the killer pieds too. Maybe I'll just sell my house so I can afford to work on storm trooper pieds.

I recently picked up a Pied het Albino girl, so you can guess what I'm going to be working on... I LOVE the low-white Pieds because you get to see more of their crazy patterning, and some of the best IMO are the Enchi, Pinstripe, Banana (which I want to get into later), and the rare Lightning (Axanthic) Pieds. I think GHI would probably kick anything up a notch, so a long-term project is probably in there somewhere... I love the idea of Pastel GHI Pieds!

Wow that trick pied is gorgeous. If it is able to keep that high contrast then it is definitely a project I would be interested in. I absolutely want to find morphs that decreases the percentage of white as I think combining it with morphs that are high white could produce some unique animals. I am interested in Enchi animals for this same reason.

Both albino and coral glow pieds are incredible animals and most definitely available, but I don't think I can stomach the price that het pied animals are fetching these days. I absolutely love the GHI gene and would love to work with it at some point. The thing about axanthic that worries is the possibility of browning out which makes the morph pointless in my opinion. I would hate to either own or sell a beautiful sliver animal that turned out to look like a normal in the end. The fire gene intrigues me because of the high yellow it can produce that seems to stick as they age.

Thanks for the complement Ant. I'd recommend a trick het pied but their hard to come by from my understanding. I've done my fair share of surfing the ads of kingsnake and i've only seen a male trick het pied ...once lol. Plus the one i got wasn't even for sale. After my potion i mentioned to al the breeder i got him from that i was looking for interesting het pied stuff and he said he was barely willing to sell her. But there is some hope for you if your interested in a trick het cause i plan on breeding my girl some time hopefully this year. Depending on what happens with the pairing which is gonna be her to my mystic potion pos pied i'll be willing to sell you something. If the mystic doesn't prove out i'll try her to my pied boy as a back up. Who knows i might actually make a trick pied of my own someday or if the mystic does prove out bazinga pieds. Bazinga is a trickmojave btw feel free to check them out on wobp. Mystic pied's are usually high white but with trick added and the looks of the picture who knows what'll happen. Funny thing is by pure chance i can't imagine anybody's tried this pairing before.
