    Signs they locked

    Hi guys and gals,

I'm breeding my BPs for the first time this year and all going well I will be breeding the below groups.

    Group 1
    1.0 Mojave X 0.1 Lesser

    Group 2
    1.0 Het Dreamsicle x 0.1 Het Dreamsicle

    Group 3
    1.0 Banana het Pied x 0.2 Pied

I have paired the first two groups together and have only witnessed a lock from group 1 and nothing from group 2. I know just because I didn't see it means it didn't happen but I'm wondering if there are any signs to look for after you remove your male. Experienced breeders how do you know they locked even though you didn't see it ? Or is waiting for the female to show sings of pregnancy the only way to tell? Strange question I know LOL I guess I'm just excited about the possibilities.

About 90%of the time you will see the lock as they stay locked for several hours. There are stealth breeders where they are done in a short time but dont count a lock unless you see it. And most males will cuddle after
Laziness is nothing more than the habit of resting before you get tired.

Yeah, all my guys have some serious stamina. It's really hard to miss a lock. I usually pair and then check every 12 hours for 3 days. If they lock I'm going to see it. If I don't, I separate and try again another time.
