My girl is like that. She really only grabs onto me with her tail if she thinks she is going to fall or trying to reach for something far away. Try and see if she hangs onto you while you hold her a few inches above the bed by just her back 1/3. My girl will wrap around my hand if I do that lol. Otherwise she is pretty oblivious to falling lol.
