    i think that's an excellent choice. but I'd still count on a minimum 36x18 floor space. i keep adult male coastals in 36x24 and 48x18. that's for his eventual adult cage. i keep hatchlings in 16 qt tubs. you've got a while before you need to decide on final/max cage size. just go get yourself that carpet and figure 6-8 sf floor space when he's grown. IMO, carpets are the best!
