need some insight from experienced people
Hey everyone,
I have a couple of females that are refusing food now for several weeks (Super fire and Orange Ghost 5 weeks, Pastel het. Pied 3 weeks, Leopard 2 weeks)
And now I am wondering if I could consider that as good signs? They all have had multiple locks.
let me know what you think

Re: need some insight from experienced people
Your guess is as good as any, but I'd keep offering food right up until I see a big ole ovulation with my own eyes. Multiple locks are good, but they are still "just locks". Good luck!

Yeah I have been and will keep offering food to them.
About my Super Fire I am quite sure she is close ovulation as she is getting bigger while she is refusing food for 5 weeks now, and when I hold her and let her hang and watch her from the side I can see a nice "lump" sticking out her belly (I saw the same thing with my big normal female that has ovulated), The Pastel het Pied female I felt 7 pretty big follicles (I think) but since this is my first season breeding I just was hoping to get some confirmation, I guess haha.

Food refusal is not what I pay attention to or at lest not that lone, I have had females lock, go off feed and produce nothing just like I have had female eating even after ovulation.
Sure it can be a good sign but I prefer it to be combined with other behaviors such as cooling/bowl wrapping, lumping, glow since you have witness some of this as well than yes it is a good sign, the best sign is the glow because once they do they will have an ovy and will lay eggs.

well she has yellow spots
But I think seeing "the glow" with only those spots will be hard

well I can't tell because she is not mine but even with a few spots you can tell if you compare her to what she usually looks like, when they glow even bright colors gets brighter.
Of course dark animals are easier.

Youd be surprised. I can tell when my ivory is glowing from the tiny amount of color she has!

Ok wow, cool thanks I'll be looking for that then
Though it is gonna be really hard for me to see as I am slightly color blind and funny thing, I didn't even realize I saw my big normal girl glow until she ovulated and he glow was gone
