Clutch #1 is starting to come out of the eggs

I would like to start them all on rat crawlers (I prefer to not feed my balls mice) however the runt (Hatchling #1) is only 50 grams so I may have to go with a mouse hopper for it for the first few feedings unless I can find some runt rat crawlers. Hatchling #2 is 65 grams and Hatchling #3 67 grams. Hatchlings 4,5,and 6 appear to be about the same size as #2 and 3 but they are yet to come out of their eggs so we will see.

You can try to offer them whatever you like, but ultimately getting them eating is the most important thing. I find it is easier to get them started with mouse hoppers because they are smaller so less intimidating. They are much more animated (more movement) which tends to create a stronger predatory response in the hatchlings. They also have more fur than rat crawlers which probably means more scent so a little stronger target. Once they are eating regularly getting them to switch to rat crawlers is usually not a problem. Congrats again. It looks like a pretty nice clutch.
