Seems like you are complicated things really, if you are leaving for a week even two your snake can stay put where it is.

If you insist on taking him with you use a snake bag or pillow case for the trip and place the pillow case or snake bag in a small Styrofoam cooler (use newspaper so the bag does not move around the cooler)

For your setup get a tub, an ultraterm heat pad (they are sturdy and perfect for temporary/stand alone setup) and a RELIABLE thermostat.

Yes it will be stressful each time your snake will need time to re-adjust to his new environment and given the length of time of your trip your snake will start to settle down when it will be time to leave again and have to re-adjust once again.
