BRB climbing

Hey guys! Just wondering how many of your BRBs climb branches and such. I bought a nice new t8 from Animal Plastics for Skittles and she is doing very well. I have things she can get on top of but I took away her ability to climb with this terrarium as it's only a foot tall. Do they climb much if given the opportunity? Maybe I can fit a branch from corner to corner to help or insert a rod for climbing about 8 inches up? If they are strictly ground dwellers I guess I won't care. As usual after looking around some people say they climb and others say they don't. Thoughts?

As far as I know, they're semi-arboreal. Mine doesn't seem interested in climbing on anything but me, lol. She's really young, though. I just got a pvc setup for her and I was wondering the same thing. I have a piece of bamboo. I think I'll put it in anyway to see if she uses it. Maybe giving them the option is best just in case?

BRB's - especially babies - love to climb. Usually they do it at night.

My adult male still loves to climb and does it well. He used to have a tall cage that allowed for it but not so much in his current house.

Well we've been thinking of getting a male Dumerils Boa in the next year or so. Maybe the Dumerils will be more comfortable in the BRBs current 48"x24"x12". That means I'd get a 48"x24"x36" for my BRB and give her the ability to climb. Gotta say, I've been very happy with my purchase of the AP t8. It helps with humidity and temp a lot better than I expected. Now I'd feel bad if I had a snake in anything else. Thanks for the advice guys.

My BRB climbs a lot, he's got a vine in his tub to climb on. He's about 17-18 months old, ~3' and he's still quite interested in climbing around at night.

When he gets big enough, I have a T12 to put him in, so we'll see if he's still climbing then, but right now he's fairly young and still climbs about.

Skittles, my 4 year old BRB, is about 5.5 ft long and seems to be very chill. She rarely moves about, I just see her in one of her few hides every time I look in. I try to handle her once every 10 days or so. She's very hard to handle though. She's always wanting to explore and never wrap or sit still. Idk if she's uncomfortable with me or wanting to finally get out and about and explore. Hopefully she'll get more comfortable with me and prefer to hang out as she spends more time with me. I've had her less than 6 months.

A Dum would be very happy in the T8. If you get a tall enclosure for your BRB with lots of climbing options, make sure they are very sturdy and affixed tightly to the sides so they can't tip or fall over - you'd be amazed how far the little guys stretch out when they want to go somewhere.

Incidentally , have you tried putting a few branches in her Viv ??

I've had a few over the years and they all loved climbing , evening time of course . Although yours is a good sized animal isn't it so any branches would have to be firmly fixed somehow , rather than just wedging them in where they fit .

I had one that was slightly smaller than yours but he was the STRONGEST snake I've ever held , when he wrapped around your arm you were helpless until he decided to let go
