    I detest cell phones, and as noted above, typical cell phone manners. Fortunately, I don't usually have to be anywhere at a certain time, so I carry neither a cell nor wear a watch.

    However, I do love mechanical watches. The tiny wound up machines fascinate me. Have a small collection of old vintage wrist watches, and one pocket watch. I even have a good DVD on mechanical watch repair - but never got into it enough to make the relatively small investment in necessary tools. Maybe someday.

    I believe the market for exclusive mechanical watches will remain, but I don't see much future for the run-of-the-mill dept. store level of watches.
