Man these T8's are super easy to clean !!

thanks man, lol I'm kind of afraid to use bleach too, that and my 40 gallon tank is insanely heavy and it would be a pain to drag that outside to rinse out with bleach and such, with the added baggage of an attached heatpad

You run into any problems with the height of the T8? I was tossing the idea around of getting 2 of them but when I talked to Ali, she said the inside height is 10.75". RBI says no closer than 6" for their RHP. With 2" of aspen, 2" of RHP and 2" of snake, that leaves an air gap of 4" which is well below the specs. This has me kind of worried so I have come up with an alternative of ordering me 2 T13s for my boas and then giving my 48x23x14 Proline to my BP. Only downside is the T8 are quick ship where the T13s will take me like 3 months to get But anyways, anyone use thick aspen and an RHP on the T8s?

I haven't found it an issue with my BP nor has it been one with my daughters adult corn snake who is also in a T8. With my BP I only use enough substrate to cover the bottom nicely so it doesn't show. My BP has never seemed to want to burrow any although in his hides it looks like he goes around in circles and makes almost little "crop circles" in the substrate.
I use a little thicker layer of substrate for the corn snake as he likes to burrow just under the surface at times and has little tunnels all over the place before long.
In both cases with me anyway height of the T8's works just fine and haven't had any issues at all. I did have to play around a bit with the placement of my thermostat probe to get my temps just right. What ended up working best for me is running the probe along the hot side wall and leaving the probe on the surface of the substrate about half way along the wall not quite directly under the RHP. I've had to maybe readjust it twice from the snake pushing some substrate over it but other than that works great for me. Gives me a 90F hotspot, 75-77F in the coolest back corner of cool side and about an 82F ambient temp. Check all my temps with a temp-gun.

I just mix the water/vinegar in a bowl then soak a paper towel in it and wipe down the whole entire inside then wipe dry with dry paper towels then use my mist bottle and soak down everything and wipe dry with paper towels then re mist and wipe dry again.
When I was a little kid as a school project I tried to make a little terrarium out of a plastic jug. I cut a large window in the front and taped clear plastic wrap over it. Inside I had a spotted salamander I had caught. Well my mom had washed out supposedly REALLY GOOD a Clorox jug for me to use. You couldn't smell the bleach what so ever but the next morning to my horror it had virtually melted my salamander. Needless to say I stay away from bleach.
