Snake Climbing Wall
Has anyone tried building a climbing wall for their snake, or put climbing holds in their cage? I just ordered AP cages for our Vietnamese Blue Beauty and Bredli carpet python; and was wondering if they'd use climbing holds.
Here's an example of a not-too-pricey bulk package of holds (I also have a jungle carpet python that is a candidate for having fun on these): http://www.rei.com/product/780883/me...-package-of-40
The nice thing about holds for snakes is that the weight they need to bear is a lot lower than for humans, even kids.

Re: Snake Climbing Wall
My normal male has a bamboo stick in his pvc cage with a vine wrapped around it and he loves to climb all over it. Sometimes I have to confiscate it at night because he can get loud lol

Re: Snake Climbing Wall
Only word of caution I would offer is this...
I rock climb, and the holds they sell for rock climbing are ROUGH. They have to be in order to provide good grip. They tear my hands up when I climb, so just be aware of that.

Snake Climbing Wall
We have a tepee-ish climbing tree for playtime outside of the cages, and the three snakes I'm thinking about these for do have climbing/perching spots in their current cages. My thought was that the holds would add climbing opportunities without taking up much more space inside the new cages.
Hypancistrus, thanks for pointing that out. I was planning on getting hands/eyeballs on anything pre-purchase anyway, that's another consideration when I do.
