Advice needed exo terra full moon for BP
Hi guys,
I read from the caresheet that red/blue light is recommended for night viewing. However I recently saw the exo terra full moon which apparently is suitable for night viewing. However the light Colour is white. Is that ok for BPs? Would appreciate any feedback. I think the full moon will be a nice addition to the tank.
Link for product is below

Thanks!

BP's are nocturnal, therefore should not have a light on them all night (in my opinion). If you want to have a light on in their enclosure until you go to bed, I think that's fine, but they still need darkness through the night.

Oh I see. But out of curiosity, why do you think exo terra sells bulbs for night viewing? Or is that a marketing gimmick.
In their description, it says total darkness (which describes my room at night) can be disorienting for BPs.

Speaking for experience of having one of those, the light is very dim and doesn't stress the snakes out. It's like going outside on a full moon. It's fine imo

They want to sell you a product. Period. Think about the natural habitat for a ball python... old termite mounds or animal burrows. No lights in there. Most pet stores and many online articles will say that ball pythons also need heat lamps and/or basking lights, but it has been proven that they just as happy and healthy, if not moreso, without those things. If you have your bp enclosures someplace with no windows, so no moonlight/streetlights, etc can get in, then maybe a nightlight in the room would be okay, but I still wouldn't fool with putting a light in their enclosure for nights.

I have a large Low, and I was hoping the full moon will lightly illuminate the entire enclosure because I like to watch her move around from my bed. Based on your experience do you think the full moon can illuminate the large Low? And perhaps if it is Low, will it then be too bright? the dimension is 36x18x12"

Hey @LittleTreeGuy, thanks for your advice. My enclosure such that sunlight partially lights the enclosure. So based on that, I shouldn't have a night light then. And you definitely make sense. Thanks a lot for your input.
