Call of the Wild
So, I ordered some faux rock ledges that are magnetic, and they finally came in. The bigger model was made to double as a planter, but the corn snake lost no time adopting it as his preferred RHP basking perch, leaving no room for a potted plant. Today was his feed day, and there he was up high, and struck his mouse mid air.
Reminded me of the bird eating island boas, and the big carpet (?) someone here posted pics of feeding from a ceiling mounted hide.

Love to see some pics of your set up.

Thanks.
Nothing much to photograph, the set-up is a 30L by 22H (~35gal) glass aquarium I picked up years ago for $5. It is currently wrapped around the outside for insulation. A UTH and RHP are needed to keep it warm in our house. The bedding is fluffy paper CareFresh. Plain black Reptile Basics medium size hides cover the floor, and support a water dish, and a clear humid hide.
When the weather warms up, I'll transfer him to a big Exo Terra, and things will be a lot more interesting plant-wise. (The RHP's are hard on plants suspended anywhere near them.)

They are called Magnaturals, and made by Pet Tech. New England Hepetoculture sells them, and they have pics there. The ledges and planters are made to support gekos, but the magnets are VERY strong, and this snake only weighs 200-something grams. (33 inches long, and slender, but not skinny.)
I really like the way they look. (Just have to be careful to keep the magnets away from sensitive electronics.)

Do the magnets seem to work well? It's probably no problem for a corn but I would be nervous for a chunkier snake like a ball.

I don't know if they would support a full grown ball (probably not).
I read an online description somewhere, that they are rated for a pound, but that is not on the packaging. If it does fall, it is foam, and less likely to do any damage.
Maybe add more magnets?
There are other mfr's that incorporate an adhesive and clip design for a similar product. This also makes it easy to remove the ledge and clean it, but limits redecorating, if you want to move the ledge.

Hmm, now I'm wondering if using something like a tub or PVC cage if one could drill holes and anchor it with long screws.

Re: Call of the Wild
If your snake outgrows the Magnaturals ledge, they'll start tilt/sliding first, not go straight to falling off. Until one day you reach in to pick her up, putting just a liiiiitle too much weight on it, dumping your snake into her water bowl. At that point you take out the ledge, close the cage door, and leave the snake to have her snit in peace.
