Maybe put a towel on top to hold in some extra heat.

High 70s ambient should be fine.

From my experience, the holes will help with humidity adjustment, but they don't affect the heat too much in my setups. I was like you, but I wanted to raise the ambients just a tad for my own piece of mind, so I just got a little oil-filled radiator style heater and set it beside my rack. It's got a built in thermostat and it really doesn't run all that much, but my ambient temps are never below 78 now.
