It is stressful for the snake and can actually make a shed worse.
Make a humid hide instead. Use a clean sponge, well rinsed, and slightly damp then put the sponge in a hide. Then put everything into the snake's cage. The hide will be very humid if you keep the sponge damp, and the snake can go into the humid hide when it needs to. Some people use sphagnum moss instead of a sponge. It works either way. I usually put the sponge on a rock so that the moisture doesn't leach into the substrate.
Re: Could explain soaking in a tub to help with sheds?
I have moss in there already and I mist the tank every hour or so but I just cant seem to keep the humidity up. They've been stuck in shed for weeks and i'm just really worried that waiting any longer will be bad for the snake . I won't do it if you really think it's bad for the snake though.
