Funny eating behaviors

I accidentally posted this in the wrong place last time sorry but i would like some insight on it...

OK I am very new at raising ball pythons and have been getting quite a giggle at my babies...Some of my snakes strike and eat quite aggressively but lately 4 out of the 7 that i own will come over to the mouse/rat and just put their nose on it then open their mouths and make me put it in their mouths, then they may or may not constrict depending on how lazy they seem to be feeling... now i laugh cause they are so lazy but is this normal or should i be worried??? I may be over feeding but they take food nearly every time and when they act like they are hunting their tanks they eat tons every time...

Nope, I wouldn't worry about that. I haven't had a BP do it but my corn does it all the time. How often are you feeding?

feeding once to twice a week for now, until they are grown like i said I might be over feeding but it is so funny that they just open their mouths instead of striking...I assume that they are just taking for granted that I will always be there to feed them so they act like "well ok if you insist i will eat"...lol that is what it seems like to me...giggles... I will try to get it on video one of these times...too funny...

I've had my little one do that a couple of times, it is pretty ridiculous! Now she strikes, I guess because maybe she's bored and relishes the chance to "hunt", but it was pretty funny when she just moseyed on up to the mouse and opened up without a care in the world. Of course, when she did that I had been giving her some prey that, in hindsight, was on the small side for what she should have progressed to at that point. Maybe if they feel like the prey will not be a challenge to swallow, they don't bother wasting the energy on striking and constricting?
