    Exclamation Escaped baby BP

Hey, my bp has escaped 5 moths old gone for 24 hrs+ and I was hoping you guys could give me some techniques to find the guy. Tonight im going to put a dead mouse in my room over a heat lamp and next to his tank (feeding day today). He lives on my desk next to my computer (looked under and inside it) looked around the cage, under my bed, in and under drawers, under entertainment centers, inside speakers and subwoofers, inside shoes, in my bed sheets, under couches, inside couches, inside vents, near and under my furnace, under and around watercooler, boxes. Im so stressed about the guy, my house is super cold... I really hope he shows up at some point oh and BTW, Last night I drank up on some redbull and pulled an all nighter search. I also put plastic bags all around my closet door. This house is super old and has no insulation... I have 1x1 inch hole in my wall and im going to shove one of those cameras on the end of a wire into the hole to see if he could have gone in there. If you guys have any advice, please let me know

Where is the one place you would really really not want him to be? Look there.

and they aren't always smart. Found an adult female stuck in my hole my sump pump sits in once. Little turd got her sliding door open and went for a swim. Last place I looked, mostly cause the pump stopped working.

your baby BP is probably sleeping (and cold) right now. u just have to be awake, alert and fast to catch it when it comes out tonight.

providing a hotspot (esp. in a cold house) is a very good idea. i would go with a live mouse in a critter keeper/container instead of a dead one tho. it holds it smell and heat signature better. also it's movement might get noticed.

i hear u can also dust the floor with flour help keep it's track - where it comes out of, where does it go? messy, but could be helpful.

    good luck.

I always found my snake either in a warm spot (under dryer) or cold, in a linen closet. Would seek them out every time. Of course this was 20 years ago before I stopped listening to pet stores and got bins.

also u gotta figure out how your BP got out in the first place. was a lid open? was something loose? u need to secure it's enclosure to prevent this from happening again.

Check closets first. They love to go under closet doors. Also check the back of computer towers where the wires are (computers are warm). Good luck!

she got out due to me forgetting to put the clips back on the cage

Back when I trusted the sliding-top screen mechanism, one of mine escaped. The flour on the floor trick worked pretty well, but what everyone is suggesting here is golden. A live mouse in a tank with some warmth would be great. I happened to feel my little one brush against my toes under the bed while I was folding laundry.

If you also use a sliding-top screen lid, make sure you shove something in the lock hole, whether a lock, a stick, etc. if you leave it unsecured they will push themselves out. Good luck.

Invite your friends and family over for a fortnight. Turn all the electronics off except the fridge. Everybody should have a heavy duty flashlight and remain quiet and observant. Very little talking and just use the flashlights. Turn off all room lights. The key is to remain quiet while searching.
Stay in peace and not pieces.
