Being a visual ghost is something that usually is at the top of the description when describing a snake that is actually that ...... I myself am curious as to how you decide if a coral glow snake is indeed a visual ghost .... ghost is a pigment mutation and has nothing to do with the pattern of a snake .... These are just my opinions and questions and I am by far no expert

Thanks for chatting with me. I'm really new to all of this so when I bought her I was just going for the snake I liked best. It was after I got her that the fascination with genetics bit me. lol Her breeder said it was tricky picking out the ghost in the coral glows. He said you could kinda see it when you compare her to her coral glow siblings. I could see what he meant because that was why I picked her.. she just looked different.. had more of a platinum look to me. I added some pics in a comment below and to my gallery if you want to see her.

Thanks! Ok so maybe I should make a puzzle or flip card game to help myself learn this stuff. haha But in reality I'll probably just read and read and read about it until it clicks hopefully. I kinda get it but then it's a very fuzzy grasp of it.

I added some pics of her to my profile. I'll post the parents pics after I get a reply from her breeder giving me an ok. I don't want to post them without his knowledge.

That's pretty much how I got started out ... I had wanted a snake for a pet since childhood, well finally some years later and after I got out of the military and was actually home enough to care for one I got a male normal ball python (having no idea there were so many colors and patterns). ...... And then in my search to make sure I was caring for him properly, I found this site ... AND now (2 years later) I have 24 ball pythons and my first clutch in the incubator, with hopefully two more clutches to follow in the next month or so ...... So yes when the ball python bug bites .. it bites hard LOL Good Luck to you on your ball python journey

    The key to breeding

Research, research and more research not only on the how to but also the genetic aspect of it and of course ask yourself the right questions.

As far as what to shoot for, breed what is within budget and what YOU like, don't let someone else's taste dictate what should be in your collection, you are the one that will care and look at those animals for years to come.

The possibility are endless and it's a great feeling.
