    To drill a hole into glass, U need a diamond bit and a drill tht goes faster than what most happen to have in their work shops...do not try this if you do not have the proper equipment.

    I'm not sure of the type of wood it came with the tank. I think the previous owner just grabbed a piece of drift wood. I soaked the entire log in the tub overnight with bleach. rinsed it several times and left it to dry for several days. Once it was dry I made the cuts and put 2 coats of polyurethane on them.
