    Istat pulse thermostat

While exploring the Internet I stumbled upon a new kind of thermostat that I have not seen before. Apparently it's from the UK, but now available in the US. It cost $150, and is called the ISTAT pulse. Maybe other people know about it but I thought when I found it it would be worth sharing because everyone's looking for something different lately and it looks really quite nice.

i saw these while browsing Fauna last night and was gonna post about it as well.

it sounds cool and apparently will be available in like a dozen different colors. anyway here's the thread with some Q&A - http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/foru...d.php?t=561558

i'll probably wait for a few reviews to come in. (unless someone form the UK has experience with these already. )

I don't see how it would read accurate humidity through the temperature probe if used in a rack. LoL

Yeah I've seen those on Facebook and stuff and seen the euro videos of it. Seems decent but i'll wait for others to use it awhile in the states. My biggest thing is I cant see how it is better than a Herpstat for the cost increase.

It has 1 temp probe. It does have a humidity deal built in but not sure how that would work.

Also I cant find any tech sheets on it like the probe accuracy etc. Not a big fan of the look either with the wires all coming out the bottom. It does have some stand I guess, or at least that's what I read.

Touch screen is nice but again, its not modular like a Herpstat so how would you replace a power cord or plug if something happened?

It can set temps based on hours which I guess is nice but I don't really see a huge use for that, at least in my applications.

I'll just stick with my Herpstats unless its proven to be leaps and bounds better. I'm waiting to see this Herpstat 6 that Dion mentioned!!

The other thing is the Herpstats are tried and proven and have reps who back up the products. They (Herpstats) are familiar to us where as Istat is the new and unproven new kid on the block. Herpstats are a tough product to beat!
Stay in peace and not pieces.

There was also, from what I understand, trouble with the person behind I stat....I'm not judging, as I don't know what went on, but it was on the UK forums. It's there for people to make their own minds up if they want to buy and support I stat products.

Exactly. Why do I need to reinvent the wheel per say by buying a new T-Stat when my Herpstats have served me so well for 3+ years so far. Plus I want to see Dions Herpstat 6!!!!!
