I'm just speaking from personal experience.

The reason most people talk smack about analog gauges is because 98% of the time they're either horribly off, in the wrong spot or never been calibrated. I have an analog gauge for my humidor but even that was off before I salt tested it and made the proper adjustments. I also have a digital gauge to make sure that it's correct.

Digital gauges in general are an easier alternative for newer members and that's why I personally suggest them over analog ones.
