Don't know, no CHE experience.
Based on the 100 Watts I used to use for chicks (open metal bin), I'd probably go with a 40watt over a closed glass enclosure.
Just a guess, however.

Re: UTH Size?
I use two. One for the hot spot and another for the cool side. This is because I live in a very cold state(During any season but summer) and no one knows how to heat up the house correctly. I'm quite used to the 60F-72F house but my snakes(Two Ball/Royal Pythons) are not, so they get two UTHs. Both are controlled by a herpstat 2 and are monitored. The warm spot generally is about 92F-89F while the cool spot is 86F-76F. As for size, they generally have the it located on the product somewhere. Just measure out your terrarium/tub/tank and estimate. I'm currently using a cheap UTH brand for one of my ball pythons but that is because he's just about to go up in tub size. The only problem with it is, is that it takes a while for it to warm up if unplugged. So, while looking around for a UTH, I'd go with a Ultratherm or a Zoo Med. All up to you when it comes to your snake(s).
