    Depending on the material you are using, Heat tape would be applied to the bottom of the units, on the outside of the enclosure... Assuming you are going with plastic of some kind. That would give you the hot spots you need, and if your room temperatures are in the 70's, that is probably all you would need.

    If building from wood, or melamine, or something similiar, Heat tape will likely not be sufficient as it won't be able to heat through the wood. In that case, RHP's (radiant heat panels" that would be mounted inside the cage, on the ceiling, would probably be your best bet.
